Dr. Andrew qualified with Honours from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1999. He completed his internship in Beaumont Hospital, Dublin and also worked in the Mater Hospital. He has completed GP rotations in Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, ENT and Geriatrics / General Medicine, as well as completing posts in Orthopaedic Surgery and Accident and Emergency Medicine.
He completed a Masters in Pharmacology in UCD and is a member of the Irish College of General Practitioners. He has a particular interest in nutrition as applied to psychiatry and is also very interested in the study of Genetic anomalies that can affect health, including the MTHFR and other SNP's.
He trained in a Walsh outreach programme in Oslo in 2011 that gives him the skills to deal with epigenetics, particularly as applied to depression, anxiety and other mental health issues. His research thesis in UCD was heavily involved in aspects of gene expression that equips him to explain aspects of genomic medicine to patients who are interested in this.
